Acupuncture & Inner Feng shui

Traditional Acupuncture

The insertion of fine, sterile, single-use needles into specific acupuncture points, located throughout the body. The needles are left in for a time and then removed again.

These acupuncture points on the body are found along internal meridian pathways. When the acupuncture points are activated, these meridians act as conduits for energy flow and are designed to cause positive circulation of energy (Qi), promoting a general sense of health and wellbeing.

When our body is in a state of harmony, we are alive and healthy according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. This state is a balance between Yin and Yang (balancing complementary elements), between the different organs in our body and in the environment in which we live. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) covers many therapies, acupuncture, herbology, moxibustion, acupressure, cupping, massage, skin scraping, Qi Gong and food therapy.

Acupuncture is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practised in China for thousands of years. It has been developed, researched and refined to give us a detailed understanding of the body’s energetic system.

The first recorded use of acupuncture in the west was at a Paris Medical school in 1810 and in 1821 a British acupuncturist published a series of results on acupuncture. A detailed ear acupuncture map was developed by a French doctor in the 1950s. Acupuncture in Australia can be traced back to the 1850s, when the first Chinese immigrants’ arrived and worked in the goldfields and today has become a popular complementary therapy
